STUDENTS’ DAY IN CLC

STUDENTS’ DAY IN CLC

By: Joseph Wilson O. Jayme

October 29, 2009 was the day meant for us students, it was Students’ Day. Backtracking to the days before that, the students of CLC were taking the 2nd Quarter Periodical Exam. This made the wait for Students Day even more exciting. It was like a break from all of those tests. Students Day also marked the beginning of semestral break.

The main event of the day was the Mr. and Ms. CLC 2009. It was kind of like a pageant contest with the question and answer portion and the showcase of talents. The contestants were:

  • Niña Patricia Tapao and Isaiah Orville Aragon for Grade 1,
  • Sofia Beatrix Delavin and Frank Zeith Codilla for Grade 2,
  • Loraine Galaura and John Wilson Jayme for Grade 3,
  • Harryl Sanchez and Javyson Adrian Lao for Grade 4,
  • Alyannah Isabelle Jiao and Cary Michael Cabral for Grade 5,
  • Joanna Grace Tiu and Justin Kyle Millan for Grade 6,
  • Natassha Caira Rosales and Ruel Jan Anthony Moldez for High School I, and
  • Erica Danielle Olan and Jack Anthony Panis for High School II.

The duo from the Grade 2, Sofia Beatrix Delavin and Frank Zeith Codilla, were the big winners of the event.

Students’ Day was not all just fun, though. Set up around the school were numerous booths, each booth managed by a class. Some booths served food and drinks while others managed the game booth. Students paid for these booths with the use of coupons, the smallest price being P5.00. It was up to the kids to keep the booth running and to earn a lot of coupons.

The Students’ Day was held for the purpose of raising funds for the entire Student Council as well as to develop entrepreneurship among us. It was a new experience because it was fun with a PURPOSE. Since this was the first time, after a long time of waiting, the students of CLC finally get to have a day for them!
